ERC- IMMEDIATE LIFE SUPPORT COURSE

‘ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT FOR THE IMMEDIATE PERIOD OF CRISIS’

(ONE DAY COURSE)

  • The European Resuscitation Council has developed the Immediate Life Support (ILS) provider course based on ERC guidelines.
  • On successful completion of the course, candidate will be awarded an International ( ERC ILS) certificate valid for 4 years

Course Overview

Many healthcare professionals benefit from additional resuscitation training which covers more than basic life support ( BLS) . If you are responsible for initiating the resuscitation of patients under your care this course may be suitable for you.

This course could meet the requirements of those who need more advanced skills than those taught during Basic Life Support (BLS) courses but who do not require more comprehensive Advanced Life Support skills including team leading.

  1. ERC ILS ….. enhance your skills in the management of adult cardiac arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac  arrest cases.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Understand the causes of cardio respiratory arrests.
  1. Recognise and treat the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach.
  2. Practice basic techniques for airway management.
  3. Identify the indications for defibrillation and safe defibrillation.
  4.  Work as members of arrest/resuscitation teams.

Target audience

This course is aimed at hospital & community based health care professionals who need to resuscitate critically ill patients or patients in cardiopulmonary arrest until arrival of the resuscitation team or expert help. (e. g community based & OPD doctors, nurses, midwives , medical students, paramedics, pre-interns)

Exceptionally good candidates selected from the ERC ILS  courses  are  allowed to do the European resuscitation Council (ERC) – ALS course.
